Off to find a place to live.

So wish me luck, I'm leaving tomorrow to find a place to rent. We're going to be there for a year while we sell this place and build a new home for us. I'm hoping to find a fabulous place for really cheap!! I'll be back on Monday...

Have a great weekend!

NPR : A Guide to Navigating Health Research

I have a great deal of experiance reading and understanding research data, but even for me research data can be hard to understand and even slightly misleading at first glance. I highly recommend this discussion about understanding health studies to anyone who would like to be better informed about how to do their own research!

NPR : A Guide to Navigating Health Research: "Health studies are released every day, and it can be difficult to make sense of the data. Barnett Kramer, associate director for disease prevention at the National Institutes of Health, provides some insight on understanding scientific data."

On the same note this is a very good discussion on current women's health issue:

Talk of the Nation, Fifteen years and 160,000 women later, the Women's Health Initiative completes its research and assesses results. Guests review the most definitive study yet on older women's health.

Parking Vigilante

Parking Vigilante

"GLASSBORO, N.J. -- She's not a police officer, but Maryann Cottrell has been enforcing New Jersey's handicapped parking laws anyway.

The 53-year-old woman has reported nearly 300 motorists for illegally parking in handicapped spots, by using her tiny camera to take pictures.

State law requires police and prosecutors to take the people Cottrell reports to court.

So far, she's nabbed two Philadelphia Eagles football players, mail trucks and so many Rowan University students that the college has barred her from campus.

Rowan University notified a local activist for the disabled Wednesday that if she ever steps one foot on the school's campus, she'll have a trespass complaint filed against her.

The university's public safety department delivered the trespass notice to Maryann Cottrell after receiving complaints from students and a campus security officer about the Glassboro woman's campaign against people who park illegally in handicapped spaces, said Tim Michener, the public safety director.

Cottrell says she's sensitive to the handicapped parking issue because her 20-year-old daughter has autism and a variety of physical ailments.
